VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) - A northwestern Indiana man convicted of aiding in the molestation of a 2-year-old boy has been sentenced to 54 years in prison.
Ryan Schroeder showed no emotion during Monday's sentencing in Porter Circuit Court. The 27-year-old man has maintained his innocence and said he intends to appeal.
A jury convicted Schroeder in December on 23 counts that include aiding child molestation and child exploitation. The Times of Munster reports his trial included graphic testimony about Schroeder directing several women to take pornographic photos and videos of children.
Schroeder says he should have decided sooner to provide authorities with images he had been given of a 2-year-old boy being molested by a former girlfriend.
That ex-girlfriend, Tara Tryon, faces numerous charges in the case.
