INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Sunday drug bust stopped a marijuana production operation at a southeast Indianapolis home, according to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 7500 block of Southeastern Avenue after receiving complaints of a person growing marijuana. When responding officers arrived, they saw what appeared to be marijuana plants in plain sight.
Investigators searched the residence and found 63 marijuana plants as well as drug paraphernalia. They also called Indianapolis Care and Control to remove several animals after they found a half-eaten cat.
No one was home at the time of the search, but police are obtaining arrest warrants for narcotic and criminal charges. Police also believe several small children live at the home and have therefore contacted Child Protective Services.
