Person fatally shot on city's west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 20-year-old Indianapolis man was found dead inside a home on the city’s west side Sunday night.

Officers were called to the area near 16th Street and Livingston Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Inside the home officers found Derik Tanner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Tanner had just arrived at the residence when he was shot.

Further details were unavailable.
