RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) - A man was arrested early Thursday morning after police said he crashed a stolen truck into a Cambridge City pharmacy in an attempt to rob it.
Shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday, police were called to Grandview Pharmacy, 202 E. Main St., where an alarm had gone off when a truck crashed into the door. Police said the driver, Phillip Lee, 38, fled east on U.S. 40 when the alarm went off. The truck was found to have been reported stolen from the Centerville area.
Officers attempted to stop Lee, and when he didn’t stop, pursued him. At an industrial park near Ind. 1 and Interstate 70, Lee stopped and then ran from the truck. Officers quickly apprehended him, however.
Lee faces preliminary charges of attempted burglary, vehicle theft and resisting law enforcement. He was seen by medical personnel at Reid Hospital, then taken to Wayne County Jail.
Richmond Police Department said the investigation into this and another pharmacy burglary earlier this month is ongoing.
