Police: Teen lured into car, molested

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Bloomington police are looking for a man who they believe sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

The girl said a professionally dressed man in his 50s pulled up in his car near 11th Street in Bloomington and represented himself as a modeling agent and asked her to get in.

The incident happened near a typically busy intersection just after two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

The girl told police she got into the man's car and he took her to a remote area in Monroe County where he sexually assaulted her inside his car. The area is about four miles away from where the girl was picked up. The victim even told police several cars passed her during the assault.

Paula Cameron lives in the only house near where the assault happened.

"I am so shocked because of the girl being so young and she wasn't able to get help from anyone," said Cameron. "It makes me scared to think that things like this happen that close to home."

Cameron said she's upset she could not help.

"That poor girl, she must have been so scared, so absolutely scared. She must have been screaming and screaming for help," Cameron said.

Police said the suspect dropped the girl back off where he picked her up.

He's described as a white man in his 50s, 250 pounds, with white hair and a white beard. He was also last seen driving a newer model four-door dark gray or silver car.
