DARLINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - A 61-year-old Crawfordsville man is facing several charges after police say he drove drunk, leading officers on a short pursuit.
The incident occurred just after 12 a.m. Saturday morning in Montgomery County. After the pursuit, police say Craig Cook reached inside his clothing, appearing to reach for a handgun on his belt when a deputy deployed his taser. Another trooper fired his weapon.
Cook was not hit by the bullets, but he was hit by the taser.
Cook was arrested after falling and hitting his head on the pavement. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of resisting law enforcement with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and operating while intoxicated.
