MEROM, Ind. (AP) - State police say they've interviewed about 80 people so far in their ongoing investigation into the slaying of an 85-year-old retired western Indiana farmer.
State police Sgt. Joe Watts tells the Tribune-Star the interviews aren't with suspects but people who might have information that could help solve the case.
Lowell Badger was found fatally shot Dec. 8 in the bedroom of his home in rural Merom about 30 miles south of Terre Haute. State Police believe a 46-inch Sony Bravia LCD television was among the items taken from Badger's home at the same time as the shooting.
Watts says a reward fund for information in the case has grown to $25,000. He says detectives are working "feverishly on this case."
