STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Police say a man who was apparently drinking and driving left the scene of a single-vehicle crash Saturday night.

Police said Jason Peet, 31, was driving a Ford F-150 truck east on SR 120 around 11:40 p.m. and failed to negotiate the curve at CR 585 N. The truck went off the south side of the road and crashed into some trees before coming to a stop.

According to police, Peet left the scene of the crash before responders arrived.

A Steuben County K-9 was used to track Peet. Police said Peet was found inside of a parked vehicle at a home about a half of a mile west of the crash scene.

Police said Peet was taken to Cameron Hospital for medical treatment by Steuben County EMS.

Peet was then transported to the Steuben County Jail and booked on an initial charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, according to police. Additional charges may be added.
