GAS CITY, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Police are investigating a murder in Gas City after a 29-year-old woman was found dead in her home.

Officers were called to the 100 block of East North A Street shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday to the report of a possible death.

When police arrived they found the body 29-year-old Ashley Rheam. State Police say early indications show Rheam was murdered, according to a release.

An autopsy will determine an exact cause of death.

Detectives have begun a homicide investigation. Preliminary information reveals Rheam reported her home had been burglarized at 5:39 a.m. Rheam told police electronic items were missing from her home and her door had been kicked in.

Officers responded to Rheam's home to take a report but did not find any suspects.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., Rheam's roommate arrived home and found her dead.

Detectives say Rheam's car was stolen following the incident – it is a white 1993 Cadillac Eldorado. The vehicle was located Saturday night.

Anyone with information is asked to call Indiana State Police detectives at 800-382-0689 or 765-473-6666.
