INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was investigating a homicide Wednesday afternoon on the city's southwest side.
Police were called to the 5000 block of Wicks Drive around 1:40 p.m. to the report of a person possibly shot.
When officers arrived they found 28-year-old David McMiller of Indianapolis unresponsive inside of his apartment. EMS crews arrived and pronounced him deceased, according to a release.
Investigators believe McMiller may have been shot or stabbed, but they are waiting for a final confirmation from an autopsy Thursday. Investigators also believe three small children were present when the "fierce struggle" between McMiller and the suspect(s) began.
None of the children were harmed. All were released to Child Protective Services.
Police say no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
