LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) - Officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a bank robbery Friday around 5:30 p.m.

A suspect entered the Lafayette Savings Bank at 833 Twyckenham Boulevard displaying a handgun. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled west on foot.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police continue to search for the suspect who is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 30 – 45 years of age.

He is also described as wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and camouflaged pants.

Police say that during the time of the robbery, traffic in the area was very heavy and it is possible the suspect entered a vehicle in or around Twyckenham Blvd. and South Ninth Street.

Officers say the suspect resembles the suspect from a Chase Bank Robbery on Sept. 14 at 1400 Teal Road in Lafayette.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department at 765-807-1200 or the WeTip Hotline at 800-782-7463.
