Police make child solicitation arrest

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has made a child solicitation arrest.

Jeffrey Hance, of Moorseville, was arrested Wednesday on a preliminary charge of child solicitation

The Sheriff’s Office received information that Chance may have been sexually active with underage girls.

Investigators started a computer conversation with Hance, posing as a 15-year-old girl. Hance expressed interest in having sexual contact with the girl and sent a picture of his genitals to investigators.

Hance and the investigators posing as the 15-year-old set up a meeting location.

Hance arrived to the location and approached the female actor, after which he was confronted by investigators.

His computer was confiscated by law enforcement authorities. Investigators say he is cooperating.

Investigators have provided tips for parents and youth:

• Parents - Monitor what your children are doing on the computer.
• Parents - Have settings on the computer that restricts access to certain sites.
• Parents - Have computers out in the open area easily visible.
• Youth - Never send pictures.
• Youth - Never give out personal information.
• Youth - Never meet with any strangers met on the computer.
