ANDERSON, Ind. (The Herald Bulletin) - The Madison County Sheriff's Department says a man with a history of theft was found trying to steal copper out of an abandoned home Friday.
Charles E. Peters was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy found him in the home that was knowingly abandoned, 24-Hour News 8’s news partner The Herald Bulletin reports.
Authorities say Peters has been convicted twice for break-ins. It is believed by officers Peters was trying to steal copper wiring out of the home.
