NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Noblesville responded to the report of a battery and burglary incident late Sunday morning. The female caller indicated the incident had happened nine hours earlier.

Officers responded to the 14000 block of Mourning Dove Lane at around 11:45 a.m.

A female subject told police that at 2 a.m., she went outside to retrieve something out of her car. When she returned, she was met by a suspect in her apartment doorway.

The suspect forced the door open and entered the woman’s apartment. She says the suspect assaulted her before forcing her to the floor, according to a release.

Police say the suspect is alleged to have threatened the woman with a handgun while she was down on the ground.

The victim defended herself, forcing the man off of her, causing him to flee the apartment.

Police say the suspect has not been identified or located, but they have provided the following description:

  • Black male
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black ski mask
  • 5 foot 10 inches – 6 feet tall
  • Muscular build
  • Weighting 180 – 220 pounds
