GREENSBURG, Ind. (Greensburg Daily News) - A 19-year-old Greensburg man was taken into custody after he impersonated an officer and led officers on a pursuit.
Deputies with the Rush County Sheriff’s Department say Ryan A. Rouse was driving a car that was tailgating another vehicle.
Rouse passed the car and sped off. His passengers made obscene gestures to the other driver.
Deputies were alerted to the situation and began their search for the vehicle, 24-Hour News 8’s news partner The Greensburg Daily News reports.
Rouse was stopped after the pursuit ended.
He was preliminarily charged with impersonating an officer and disorderly conduct.
Deputies say Rouse's license plate on his vehicle did not match the registration paperwork and the car had lights and a working siren.
Two other minor passengers in the car were detained.
