INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are searching for a person they believe robbed a south side pharmacy early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the suspect entered the CVS Pharmacy at 7915 S. Emerson Av. at approximately 1:33 Tuesday morning and handed the pharmacist a note demanding numerous narcotics. According to police, the suspect was armed with a black handgun. The pharmacist complied with the suspect’s demands and handed him a bag containing narcotics.

As the suspect left the store, an employee attempted to follow him, at which time the suspect pointed the gun at the employee and told him not to be a hero.

The suspect was last seen fleeing northbound on Emerson Av. in a late 2000s black Chevrolet Impala 4-door with tinted windows and chrome wheels. He is described as 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, with blond hair. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark blue baseball cap, sunglasses, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

Police believe the same suspect may be responsible for a robbery that occurred last month at the same location.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect or the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
