INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police continue to look for a suspect they believe killed a 13-year old boy, as well as a motivation for the shooting. Glenn Beard is accused of shooting Jarrell Tucker Sunday night.
Beard filed a police report July 28 that claimed someone broke in to his home. The report says several items, including a spare key, were taken from the home and Beard was fearful someone might come back.
Beard, who was released from prison last September, should not have been in possession of a firearm according to police. Neighbors say that he was not a model citizen.
“He was really prejudiced. He came out with a gun and said ‘get off my property,’” according to Joseph Galinger, a Tucker family friend.
Jarrell Tucker had his own brushes with the law as well. 24-Hour News 8 has found eight police reports tied to Tucker, including marijuana possession, battery, and resisting law enforcement.
Police tell 24-Hour News 8 that despite speculation to the contrary, there is no direct connection between Tucker and any gangs.
Many questions remain regarding a possible motive for the killing, but police say they still have no solid answers.
