INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A former officer at Pendleton Correctional Facility has been found guilty for trying to smuggle a cell phone and charger into the prison to an inmate.
Formal correctional officer Wanda Strickler was found guilty Thursday. She was arrested Dec. 17 by Indiana State Police. She had worked at Pendleton for eleven years. She was fired after the arrest.
"This serves as a vivid reminder that when an employee violates the public trust and confidence, all corrective action possible will be taken to hold the individual accountable, including criminal prosecution when applicable," Pendleton Superintendent Keith Butts said in a news release.
