Robber to Victims: Strip and hand over your money

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Metro police say a gunman robbed five women Friday night while they were getting their hair done at a near northeast side salon.

The robbery took place at About Hair Design. The salon is located in a business complex in the 2500 block of East 46th Street.

One of the victims told 24-Hour News 8 the gunman walked into the salon around 11 p.m., grabbed the owner by the hair and told the remaining four women to move to one side of the salon. He then demanded they take off their clothes.

During the 911 from the salon, one of the victims told the dispatcher,

"He took all our keys, our cell phones, he took all our money. Our credit cards. He made us strip naked."

The victims got a good look at the man. They told police he is around 30 years old. 5'7" and weighs around 150 pounds. He has a tattoo on his neck. They say he was wearing an orange shirt with a tie and a dark sports coat.

The suspect he took off in a green over tan newer model Ford Explorer.

IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhamell says it is unusual for a robber to demand that his victims take off their clothes.

"It's usually not done very often because for most robbers, it's speed. They want to be able to go in and get out quickly."

Duhamell says the victims were not physically harmed.
