NASHVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana man who pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a man during a dispute over money has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.

A Brown County judge sentenced 38-year-old Benjamin "Jake" Munn on Monday after accepting his guilty plea on a felony voluntary manslaughter charge.

The Republic reports Munn was also ordered to pay nearly $9,000 in restitution to relatives of 31-year-old Jamie Shawn Simpson.

Munn admitted during a February plea hearing that he shot Simpson in the neck in November during an altercation in Brown County, fatally wounding him. Munn testified that he allegedly owed Simpson money and had become angry with him.

The plea deal did not address how Simpson's body ended up in an alley near downtown Indianapolis three days after the shooting.
