CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (AP) -  A southern Indiana middle school teacher is facing a felony charge after prosecutors say he was found with marijuana on school property.

Clark County prosecutors filed a felony count of maintaining a common nuisance Friday against 56-year-old Kevin Dale Hennegan. The Jeffersonville man also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

The social studies teacher was arrested Dec. 21 at Charlestown Middle School and posted bond the same day. Police say surveillance video shows a pill bottle containing marijuana falling out of Hennegan's pants pocket in a school office. A later search of his classroom allegedly revealed a smoking device containing burnt marijuana and other paraphernalia.

The News and Tribune reports Greater Clark County Schools has suspended Hennegan with pay pending an administrative investigation.
