NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Noblesville Police have arrested two men suspected of robbing two other men outside of a Village Pantry at State Road 37 and Greenfield Avenue. The incident caused police to lock down two nearby schools Wednesday afternoon.
Police issued an 'all clear' around 4 p.m., meaning students were released from the schools to board buses and parents could also pick students up.
Two men told police they were robbed outside of the Village Pantry and that the robbers fled toward a nearby Quality Inn Hotel & Suites. The hotel was evacuated and officers searched the area and eventually located the suspects at the hotel.
Police say officers from a half-dozen different law enforcement agencies responded to the scene.
Noblesville Schools officials sent an email to parents of Stony Creek Elementary and Wellington Middle School students Wednesday afternoon alerting them that students who live in the Wellington area would not be sent home because the situation was not safe.
“ Police have advised us that it is not safe for our buses to drop off children in the Wellington area. Police continue to look for the armed robber who still is at large,” the email read.
