Schools locked down after bank robbery

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) - Franklin schools were put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after an armed man robbed a bank in the area.

Franklin Police Department Deputy Chief Chris Tennell told 24-Hour News 8 news partner the Daily Journal that the lockdown was only precautionary.

The suspect, Tennell said, showed a weapon as he robbed the MainSource Bank, 597 Banta St., Wednesday afternoon. A surveillance photo of the suspect can be seen above. Anyone with information should call the police department at 317-736-3670.
