INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police have arrested a sex offender for a firearms offense after deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office conducted an interview.
Police arrested Darrick T. Rich, for possessing a firearm without a license and possession of a controlled substance.
When Rich was being processed at the Arrestee Processing Center for the offense, deputies determined Rich was a registered sex offender with the Sheriff’s Office, convicted of child molestation, according to a release.
During a compliancy interview, it was determined Rich was not compliant. He was arrested for two preliminary counts of failure to register as a sex offender, a Class D felony.
After his conviction in 2007 he was ordered to be enrolled as registered sex offender.
Pending charges were also filed for dealing cocaine, dealing methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, intimidation, possession of a handgun without a license and driving while suspended.
