PETERSBURG, Ind. (WTHI) - Our sister station WTHI confirmed Friday afternoon a man walking in Petersburg, Indiana was serving part of a court-ordered sentence for pleading guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Larry Bass, of Petersburg, Indiana admitted to buying alcohol for a 14-year-old girl; the man is also a registered sex offender. As part of his sentence the judge ordered the man to wear a sign reading "Registered Sex Offender Who Bought Alcohol for Kids".

The Pike County prosecutors office says that Bass agreed to wear the sign as part of a plea agreement to get time knocked off of his sentence.

Bass was convicted by a jury in 2010 of Child Molesting: with a sentence of 7 years.

The prosecutors office says Bass got out of prison early, and bought the alcohol for a minor while on probation. Under a plea agreement of the probation violation, a judge agreed to give Bass time served for wearing the sign.

The terms of the sentence were, that Bass would wear the sign for one hour in front of the Petersburg courthouse between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. Friday.

WTHI also reached out to the Pike County Sheriff's office who confirmed, Bass was standing outside.

Prosecutors say Bass is also taking part in a work-release program and would soon be heading for work.
