SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - One man was being held on a criminal recklessness charge in Shelby County after the SWAT team there had to defuse a situation on Sunday.
Officers were initially called to the 500 block of Eastern Avenue in Shelbyville around 4:47 a.m. Sunday because people said someone fired shots at them.
Investigators found a bullet hole in the vehicle belonging to the victims. The people who called police also said a man, 44-year-old Cary Lucas, was inside a nearby home with other people, armed with two different guns.
After more than an hour, Lucas gave himself up to police, coming outside around 6:23 a.m., police officials said.
Lucas is facing a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Additional charges are possible.
