MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - The son of a Delaware County commissioner faces new charges in an ongoing child molestation investigation, this time in his home county.
The Delaware County charges filed Monday against Jordan A. Donati, 20, 5310 N. Morrison Road, Muncie, followed charges filed March 25 in Hamilton County.
Indiana State Police say Donati met the victim online when he was 18 and she was 13. ISP began its investigation after Child Protective Services and school officials from Hamilton County reported that a juvenile female in Hamilton County was having a physical sexual relationship with an adult male.
ISP Detective Paul Hansard said the alleged sexual encounters occurred in Delaware County from May 2009 to December 2010.
Hansard forwarded his completed investigation to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office for review, and Donati was arrested after he turned himself in to Hansard at the Delaware County Jail at 5:20 p.m. Monday.
Donati was preliminarily charged with child molestation, a Class B felony, and sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class C felony.
He was being held on $30,000 bond Monday at the Delaware County Jail.
Hamilton County Court documents regarding the previous arrest obtained by 24-Hour News 8 show Jordan Anthony Donati is barred from contacting his alleged victim in the case in connection with the charges filed March 25.
The relationship came to light when the girl told a teacher that Donati, who she referred to as her ex-boyfriend, was harassing her on Facebook, the Hamilton County court documents said.
An online biography for Commissioner Todd R. Donati lists 20-year-old Jordan Donati as his son.
