INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Several people have been charged in connection to the July 3 murder of Larretha “Lala” Draughon, but police are still looking for two of them to arrest.
Five people were charged with murder, and a sixth person was charged with neglect and false informing. Six people were shot on the night Draughon was killed.
Police say this all started with an argument between two sets of girls at Ben Davis Baseball Park. It quickly escalated when some men arrived and shots were fired.
Draughon, a Vinceness basketball player and former Indiana All-Star, was found dead in a parked car a couple miles away from the park.
It's still unclear who killed Draughon, which is why multiple people are charged in her murder.
"In terms of who shot who we don't know, but we charged all the people who fired weapons," Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said.
Until Thursday, little had been said about the possible suspects in the case, other than that police had a person of interest.
Trey Bebley, 25; Tyone Mills, 20; Kayla Woods, 20; Takia Rice, 21; and Aurelious Woods, 44, all face charges of murder and felony battery. Tammy Carter, 45, faces charges of neglect and false informing. Bebly and Aurelious Woods face additional charges of attempted murder.
Police are hoping the public can help them locate Bebley and Aurelious Woods, who are both wanted on warrants for murder and attempted murder. All other suspects charged in the case have been arrested.
Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
