GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - Eric Gordon’s home has been targeted by thieves three separate times in the past three months.
“It’s been frustrating,” said Gordon as he stood inside his neighbor’s home on the 400 block of Yorktown Road.
The second time he was victimized Gordon wired up hidden cameras and he asked his neighbor, Alexis Rogers, to keep an eye on things for him.
She did. On the third week of this month she spotted a strange man pull in front of Gordon’s home. The suspect then went through her neighbor’s back yard. That’s when Rogers pulled out her cell phone and snapped pictures and took video from her living room window.
“He was nonchalant, he set the TV on the hood of his car,” said Rogers as she looked in disbelief.
She turned the evidence over to police. Officers would later identify the man caught on camera as 33-year-old Jason Carr. Investigators arrested Carr and charged him with burglary, and his bond is set at $40,000.
“I was excited,” said Gordon.
Gordon tells 24-Hour News 8, he doesn’t know Carr, but he believes the 33-year-old broke into his home before.
It’s unclear if police have connected Carr to any other burglaries.
Rogers said she is not hero; she just wanted to help protect her neighbor’s home.
“I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” said Rogers. “I know my neighbor is grateful, I would want someone to do this for me.”
