INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says a person was shot and killed at a liquor store near 10th Street and Emerson Avenue Saturday morning.
PIO Michael Hewitt says the male suspect walked into Stoney's Liquors around 10:45 a.m. and refused to pay for an item. The store clerk then tried to escort the man out of the store when a struggle ensued.
The clerk then shot the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Warren R. Pope, killing him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting is under investigation.
