INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are still looking for a suspect(s) involved in a shooting that killed an Indianapolis woman Tuesday morning on the city’s east side.
According to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police report, Ashley Carter, 29, was found fatally shot outside of a home in the 2800 block of North Hawthorne Lane, around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police received two calls for shots fired. The first call was at 2:54 a.m. Officers said they did not not find any evidence of a shot fired. About 30 minutes later, police received another call for shots fired. The found blood on the driveway and on a door to the home. Carter was found 2 hours later.
The report said officers were also dispatched to the same home at 8:27 p.m. on Monday on a report of domestic disturbance. The female caller said her ex husband was hit in the back of the head. The woman told police officers at the scene that there was a fight between her ex and her current boyfriend.
