EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana woman who admitted making up threats and sending them to herself and co-workers has been ordered to reimburse authorities for the cost of their investigation.

A federal judge in Evansville also sentenced 35-year-old Emily F. Snipes of Haubstadt to two years of probation and ordered her to pay a $10,000 fine. She had pleaded guilty to a single count of making a false statement

Prosecutors say Snipes used email and the U.S. Postal Service to send sexually explicit content and violent threats to herself and co-workers that appeared to come from an unknown stalker.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports that during a two-month investigation by the FBI and local police, Snipes' home was placed under 24-hour police protection and electronic surveillance.
