Teacher gets 80 months for child porn

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A former Brownsburg, Ind. teacher was sentenced to more than six years in prison Friday following his guilty plea to possession of child pornography.

Jason T. Krockenberger dropped his computer off at a repair shop to have a virus removed. The technicians there discovered the pornography and called police. Police secured a search warrant and took custody of the computer.

During the investigation police found 16 video files and more than 600 images of child pornography on the 36-year-old teacher’s computer.

Krokenberger taught Earth Sciences at Pike High School until his arrest. He was promptly dismissed and his teaching certificate was revoked.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney A. Brant Cook, who prosecuted the case for the government, Judge McKinney also imposed lifetime supervised release following Krockenberger's release from prison.

During the period of supervised release, Krockenberger must comply with sex offender counseling and sex offender registration requirements. Krockenberger was fined in the amount of $1000, and ordered to pay $1000 restitution to one of the victims portrayed in his child pornography collection.
