Teacher sentenced to 12 years

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Daniel Goens, 45, a Monrovia High School teacher charged with raping a student, has been sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison.
Ten of those 12 years will be executed in the Department of Correction.
Goens was originally charged with rape , two counts of criminal deviate conduct, and two counts of child seduction. He was accused of exchanging text messages with a then 16-year-old girl and luring her to his home.
