AUBURN, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old northeastern Indiana man in connection with the death of his infant son in March.
Gabriel Taylor of Auburn faces a felony charge of battery causing death. DeKalb County court documents say Taylor told investigators he was feeding six-week-old Lucas Taylor when the boy went limp and was taken to a hospital where he died hours later.
The Star of Auburn reports an autopsy found Lucas died from a head injury that was caused by an intentional act happening a short time earlier. Court records say Taylor told investigators the boy fell about a foot from an infant swing a few weeks earlier but a doctor said he was fine.
Taylor was arrested and jailed Tuesday. Court records don't yet list a defense attorney.
