INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The father of a 15-year-old accused of working with another teen to commit a string of crimes on Wednesday said his son was raised better.
James Edwards spoke outside of juvenile court on Friday, after a hearing about his son. Edwards offered condolences to the victims of Wednesday’s crimes.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said Thursday that the two boys have been linked to five different crimes from Wednesday, including robberies, a homicide and a police chase that ended in a four vehicle crash.
Edwards said his son is rebellious, but he wasn’t raised like that. He said his son was raised in the church.
The 15-year-old and 17-year-old were both arrested on preliminary charges related to the crime spree. At Friday’s hearing, lawyers asked for a continuance.
Prosecutors expect to pursue charges against the 17-year-old in adult court.
