Trial delayed for man accused in three women's deaths

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - The first trial for a southern Indiana man charged with killing three women has been pushed back to Feb. 18.
William Clyde Gibson III's first trial had been scheduled for August.
The Courier-Journal reports defense attorney George Streib requested the delay Thursday so the defense can get more information from the prosecution.
The February trial is for the murder of 75-year-old Christine Whitis , a longtime family friend whose strangled and mutilated body was found in Gibson's New Albany home on April 19. Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson is seeking the death penalty in the case.
Henderson says Gibson's trials in connection with the slayings of 35-year-old Stephanie Kirk of Charlestown and Florida resident Karen Hodella will be scheduled after the first trial ends.
