NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors and the attorney for a New Albany man accused of killing three women are due in court for a hearing ahead of his upcoming trial in the slayings.

William Clyde Gibson's pre-trial conference was scheduled for Wednesday morning in Floyd County. Prosecutors and Gibson's attorney were expected to discuss issues related to his June murder trial.

WLKY-TV reports that a judge ruled in October that Gibson was competent to stand trial.

He's charged in the deaths of 75-year-old Christine Whitis, whose mutilated body was found in his garage in New Albany, and 35-year-old Stephanie Kirk of Charlestown, whose body was found buried in his backyard. Their remains were found last April.

Gibson is also charged in the 2002 killing of 44-year-old Karen Hodella of Port Orange, Fla.
