SEYMOUR, Ind. (AP) - A truck driver from Kentucky faces a reckless homicide charge for a crash in southern Indiana that killed a state highway worker.

Fifty-one-year-old Robert Burger of Louisville is charged in the December 2011 crashed that killed 56-year-old Gregory Lawdermilt of North Vernon.

The Tribune of Seymour reports authorities say Burger falsified his logbook and had been driving for at least 22 hours of the previous 30 hours in violation of federal regulations before the crash on Interstate 65 near Seymour.

Police say Lawdermilt had stopped his vehicle on the highway behind another crash when Burger's semitrailer slammed into Lawdermilt's vehicle.

Burger has been released on bond from the Jackson County Jail. No home phone number is listed in his name and court records don't list a defense attorney.
