JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Two people were arrested Friday on multiple drug counts following a traffic stop in Jennings County.
Just after 1 p.m., a 2000 Dodge Dakota was stopped on S.R. 7 near County Squire Lakes for an equipment violation.
The trooper became suspicious of the occupants of the vehicle during the course of the traffic stop.
A K-9 unit was requested, and after a search of the vehicle troopers found marijuana, numerous pills, and a syringe inside.
The driver, 51-year-old Adam Fugate of Westport was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, and possession of paraphernalia, all Class D felony charges.
The passenger, 27-year-old Brytanny Wooten of Columbus was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a syringe, both Class D felony charges.
Both were taken to the Jennings County Jail without incident.
