BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) - Two people are facing child neglect charges after police say a 7-year-old girl fell out of a vehicle.
Jackson County officials say 59-year-old Shirley Huff was driving the vehicle on Thanksgiving. Huff was making a left turn when the door of the vehicle swung open and the girl fell out. She suffered extensive injures and was taken to Riley Hospital for treatment. She has since been released.
Huff is not related to the girl, but was on her way to the girl's father's home at the time of the incident.
Her father, Samuel K. Williams was arrested for neglect. Huff was arrested for neglect of a dependent causing serious injury.
