WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) - Westfield schools were briefly locked down Friday morning after a bank robbery suspect was thought to be on foot in the area.
Police said the robber entered the M&I Bank in the 100 block of East Main Street and handed the teller a note. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and he quickly fled the scene. Police said the man did not display a weapon during the robbery.
He’s described as a black male, mid-twenties, 5’6” to 5’11” and wearing a hooded jacket and light colored knitted winter hat.
The suspect may have been exposed to dye from the stolen money.
