INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Whitestown man faces federal child pornography charges.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett's office filed 17 charges Wednesday against 36-year-old Daniel Jines. Fifteen of the charges are for producing child porn, one county of reviewing child porn and one count of possessing child porn.
According to a press release, Jines allegedly persuaded, induced and coerced a 10-to 13-year-old child in sexually explicit activity between May 2008 and May 2010. The activity was video recorded.
In February, several videos and still images were found during a police investigation. Police also found child porn files downloaded through the internet.
Jines faces life imprisonment if found guilty on the producing pornography charges. The receipt and possession counts carry a maximum of 20 years incarceration.
The charges stem from a recently launch program, Operation Community Watch, a new effort that will aim at reducing children abuse through investigative techniques and aggressive prosecution.
