MOORESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The wife of a man arrested in connection to a clerk’s abduction is now facing charges.
Kelly Joe “Boomer” Gibson, Jr. was arrested on Oct. 19 . Police said a woman was leaving a Circle K gas station in Mooresville when he made her get into the car and robbed her of thousands of dollars.
Now, his wife, 27-year-old Ashley Gibson, is in jail on preliminary charges of aiding, inducing or causing kidnapping, carjacking and armed robbery. She was being held in the Morgan County Jail.
During the abduction, the victim said Boomer Gibson told her he was doing it because his child has leukemia. In an interview with police, he later said it just sounded better than saying he needed it for heroin.
