KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) - A Kokomo apartment was evacuated Thursday after police say a woman fired several gunshots inside.

Police arrived on scene around 8 p.m. and heard multiple gunshots inside the apartment. The police immediately evacuated the other residents.

Our partners at the Kokomo Tribune report officers made verbal contact with the resident, later identified as Mary Lively, 56, after an hour-and-a-half standoff.

Lively surrendered to police and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for her minor injuries. She has been charged with criminal recklessness and is currently being held in the Howard County Jail.

No one else was injured in this incident.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Kokomo Police Department Hotline at 765-456-7017.
