JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Jefferson County woman is facing charges on insurance fraud.
In May, detectives were requested to investigate a case of disability insurance fraud in Jefferson County. During the investigation, it was discovered that 41-year-old Jolain L. McIntosh of Lexington was receiving disability benefits for several years.
McIntosh was receiving the benefits but had been employed on at least two occasions from March-July, 2008 and September 2008-August, 2011. She continued to receive disability benefits during the time she was employed.
After the investigation was complete, findings were passed over to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.
A warrant was issued Thursday charging McIntosh with two counts of insurance fraud, a Class C felony. McIntosh was arrest later that day.
She was taken to the Jefferson County Jail where she was held on a $4,000 bond.
