INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A central Indiana mother who has been found guilty on two counts of child neglect failed to appear for sentencing on Wednesday and now police have a warrant out for her arrest.
Clarissa Brewer was set to be sentenced Wednesday, however, she failed to appear. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
Brewer was found guilty on two counts of child neglect after her infant and toddler were found home alone .
In April, a manager doing routine inspections at the Brookshire Square Apartments in Cumberland heard a baby crying. Investigators found a 3-month-old and a 2-year-old inside of the apartment.
Brewer and Bruce Daniel Jr., both 20, had been at a Walmart shopping. Police say it appears they were gone for a couple of hours.
Brewer told police that was not the first time the children had been left alone.
