RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) - A Wayne County jury found 22-year-old Amy Hockett guilty of murder and neglect in the starvation death of her 3-month-old son.

The baby's father, Joseph Pierson, was found guilty of reckless homicide and neglect, but mentally ill.

Court officials say the jury took about six hours to deliberate before they reached a verdict.

The couple's son, Khaiden Hockett, was found unresponsive inside the couple's home in the 500 block of South 12th Street in Richmond, Ind.

Amy Hockett and Joseph Pierson were arrested in February 2012 on charges of neglect after officials say their child died from dehydration because of starvation.

The couple will be sentenced on March 7.
