Woman gets 30 years for role in girl's death

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - A woman will spend 30 years in prison for her role in the death of a 5-year-old girl.
Angela Lee was sentenced in Delaware County on Monday.
In January, Lee pleaded guilty to a charge of aiding, inducing or causing neglect of a dependent. As a result of her guilty plea, another charge was dropped.
Lee was among a group of family members being prosecuted for the death of Lauren McConniel in 2010. Leading up to her death, she spent five days in the hospital for treatment of severe malnutrition and injuries to her body.
The child’s father, Ryan McConniel, was scheduled to be sentenced Monday for his role in the girl’s death. Lee is the mother of the child’s stepmother, Brittany McConniel, who was sentenced to 50 years in prison after a jury convicted her of neglect resulting in death.
