INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - As homicide detectives continue to search for answers in the death of a woman found lying in a pool of blood on her kitchen floor, a new revelation adds another layer of intrigue to the case.
Kathryn Beilouny was found dead in her home on the north side of Indianapolis on June 7. But a week before that, she had reported a $10,000 inheritance check, among several other items, stolen from her house. Police acknowledge the report, and say they're still working to find her killer.
Now neighbors we spoke with said that does not surprise them because Beilouny was well known for opening her house to the homeless. In fact, the police report from the theft said she even left her home unlocked so people could let themselves in.
“I know that she did have some unusual people from time to time,” said neighbor Sandy Check.
An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said detectives are aware of the theft report, and investigators are focused on tracking down Beilouny’s killer.
Anyone with information in the case should call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous, and information that leads to felony arrest may be eligible for cash reward.
